We stayed in Lakefield House over the new year. The house is amazing. Very well equipped and spacious. There were eight of us with a 2 month baby and the upstairs which has its own kitchen and lounge was ideal for my daughter and baby to have some me time. The views and walks around the house are exceptional and there are plenty of great places to eat in Hawkshead and Windermere is a short ferry ride. All in all easily one of if not probably the best holiday cottage we have stayed in.

We were two families staying at Lakefield over the New Year week. The house was a delight with a huge sitting room & amazing views over Esthwaite. It was warm, spacious & well equipped to cater for the 9 of us. There are walks straight from the doorstep on this quiet side of Windermere & crucially, two pubs close by! Owners Guy & Jane clearly care about providing a homely getaway for families. We would definitely return.

Perfect place to stay in the Lake District with a big group of friends or family. The house is very homely and spacious, with everything you need to cater for a large group. The views from the main living room window are incredible! The location is great - lovely walks straight from the house itself and just a short drive to many longer walks in the mountains. Highly recommend Lakefield House for a relaxing visit to the Lakes. I've been back a couple of times and always look forward to it.

A beautiful house in beautiful scenery. Fantastic local walks and great access to the whole of the lakes. But with the stunning view from the living room you could stay there all day. Great facilities inside the house with comfortable and spacious rooms. Modern appliances in the kitchen too. Hoping to return soon!

Lovely home in a great location if you like countryside and slight seclusion. It's 5 mins drive from a shop and 5 mins walk from a pub although I would walk the extra to go to cuckoo brow Inn. Lovely food and lovely owners!

We stayed at Lakefield House with a couple of friends at the end of February this year. We were so impressed with the property, the views are magnificent. The house is so spacious and feels like a proper family home. We all loved it and felt it was one of the best holiday homes we had ever stayed in. Stayed a week in the cottage - excellent. Great location, lovely cottage and Guy & Jane (owners) provide lots of useful information. Everything you see on the site is correct including the view.

Beautiful lakeside house, great option for a holiday with family or a group of friends. Well located near to both Ambleside and Windermere - lots of water sports available in Windermere and lots of beautiful walks in the area. The house has everything you need for a comfortable stay and the living room has a stunning view out onto the lake
