I would like to thank Richard, the proprietor, for his generous hospitality, care and thoughtfulness during this weekend when the weather conditions were atrocious. My sister and I could not have asked for more and we would highly recommend a stay here at any time of the year. Nothing was too much trouble and I look forward to a return visit with my family in the spring.

Wedding anniversary meal. Did not stay in hotel.||Absolutely superb. Elegant but not over the top ambience. Old world feel. Extremely friendly welcome from Angela and Richard. Absolutely superb meal. Very good value.

Stayed at Ees Wyke Country House for a night away and a proposal. The views from every room, especially lake view and dining room are spectacular.||Very welcoming staff, lovely rooms with very good facilities. Dinner and breakfast were beyond excellent

Friendly staff. Very nice room, but small. There's a particular way everything needs to be done here. The food is first rate but not as superb as when I visited in 1998. No snacking between meals. The setting is the most beautiful one can imagine.

To start, the extraordinary picturesque views from our room (see photos) looked like classical English or French landscapes. In late May the meadow and lake, complete with sheep, were visible until 10pm. |Our week at Ees Wyke included lots …

Once again we have returned from a stay with Richard Lee and his friendly staff at Ees Wyke. The fine weather in the Lakes made the sojourn even better than usual. Our dinner in the elegant dining room overlooking Esthwaite Water, Coniston …

Another great day at Ees Wyke, the location is so beautiful and yet close to Hawkshead and Bowness/Windermere via the ferry. There are many great walks starting at the hotel. The rooms are very comfortable and well equipped. The food is fantastic, great breakfast options with the cooked breakfast a favourite of mine. In the evening dinner is a real highlight, beautifully cooked, presented and with great flavour. On our last visit we had mains of sea bass with red onion and pancetta and Guinea fowl with green peppercorn and cream sauce. I highly recommend this hotel for its comfort, food and service.

Oh my, where to start with this little gem! Arrived to a beautiful house in a beautiful location complimentary sherry, tea or coffee on arrival too. We had the lilac room, that had a super king size super comfy bed however this room doesn't come with on en suite but you do get a private bathroom with a bath, which was heaven after a 6hour hike. We also forgot to pack toiletries so the shampoo and body wash was very appreciated. We had a 3 course meal on the 2nd night of our stay, and the food was amazing, including the breakfast, you get pastries cereal plus something warm so a good variety. I'd recommend the poached eggs. Beautiful views from every window. WiFi throughout if you want to stay in touch with the outside world. It's pure silence and pure darkness so you really get to appreciate the location. May be a little too quiet for some people. But was perfect for us. Was a bit of dust on the bedside table but this didn't ruin our stay. Would defo go back and would most definitely recommend.

I booked direct so I could request the Jade room and was very happy with my choice. The room was so comfortable and the bed was just right.
The views from everywhere in the hotel are stunning.
I was able to get great pictures for the book I am writing for my grandson about the adventures his stuffed animals had in the UK on holiday.
Nice vegan options for breakfast, as well!

Booked a break for two nights. Really enjoyed the hotel and the hosts were great. The dinner was very special but my husband was taken ill in the night with a chest infection and we regretfully had to leave early the next morning. We …
