Nice wee place. The house is well kept and I really appreciated the books left in each room to show where Beatrix got her inspiration from. Quite pricey for the surface area. Would recommend to visit in the spring or summer so the garden will be at its best and blooming 🌹
Oh and book in advance, parking is extremely small and if you want to park you'll need a pre-booked ticket

A very cozy small house with history and helpful staff. Before our trip, we watched the movie "Miss Potter" to better understand this place. Unfortunately, we weren't able to get into the house the first time because we didn't know that we had to book in advance. Luckily we were in the area for three days and booked a tour for the next day.

We visited this lovely old building on a weekday in October half term and thoroughly enjoyed it! It wasn't overrun with visitors because you pre-book timeslots in advance, which enables the National Trust to control the foot flow. It was larger than I had initially expected, and it was lovely to see the well-preserved contents. It was pleasant to walk around the quaint gardens (despite the rain) and buy a coffee and cake from the hut at the far end of the garden. Great family trip, especially for young Peter Rabbit fans!

Such a beautiful place to visit all year round, very autumn vibrant colours on the drive up to the hilltop house.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. The house and the gardens are so beautiful. I can understand why Beatrix Potter stayed there to write and do her artwork. I could visualise peter rabbit running about the garden, lol
A visit to this house is a must you won't be disappointed, they even have a gift shop.

We visited earlier this year. Excellent well maintained gardens. Plenty to see in the house and gives an insight into Beatrix Potter's life. Parking can be tricky with only limited places so it is best to book in advance, use public transport or park elsewhere. We spent around 2 hours here. The gift shop is good as well and free from tat.

Very interesting, beautiful scenery around. Didn't take long to get around. Is more of a pop in than a day trip.
We enjoyed seeing the items she used and the inspirations. Haven't added many photos so as not to spoil the trip.
Not for the less mobile I would say, walking from the carpark to the house was on a road and alittle hilly, then lots of never surfaces and stairs.

This was my manly brother in law's favorite place. It was peaceful and quiet and he loved the garden and home. It's a treasure we have this place and loved the historians in the home and my childhood was lots of Beatrix Potter house items and how they shared if she had children we probably wouldn't be able to visit as she would have left the house to them. Worth a visit if near this area.

Beautiful place to visit, well preserved a bit of history. The house and everything inside is as if Beatrix Potter still lived there.
Booking online is a must as there is a limited number of parking spaces. Very short walk from the car park to the house (not wheelchair access) Independent cafe (outdoor seating) and NT shop within the grounds. Great place to visit on a dry day so you can enjoy the garden and the views.

Beatrix Potter's Hill Top Farm is such a great place to visit. It exceeded my expectations of the gardens and the house. The house was very interesting with lots of artwork by Beatrix and other artists and unique furniture from the era of her ownership. The gardens are full of classic flowers and shrubs including many apple trees and a vegetable patch. Very relaxing to sit on one of the many benches and enjoy the surrounding countryside. Quite easy to spend 3 or 4 hours here. A fantastic Beatrix Potter shop with a good range of gifts. It is a very well organised site and all the staff are very professional, friendly and polite. An adequate amount of parking spaces for visitors. I would highly recommend.

We were very much looking forward to this. It was maybe smaller than we expected, so didn’t take quite as long as we expected. We ensured we pre-booked our tickets online which meant we were guaranteed getting in as it was in high season. We were greeted by friendly and very helpful National Trust guides, they were quick to answer any questions and our daughter was fascinated by the illustrations and then being shown the real part of the house from the illustrations. We loved it, walked around the house, gardens and the quirky little gift shop. In total we were there between 11\2 to 2 hours.
